John Olive grew up in New Jersey and played college basketball at Villanova University, where he graduated in 1977.

Olive was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the eighth round of the 1977 NBA draft. He played in the NBA for the San Diego Clippers from 1978 through 1980.

Olive was an assistant coach at Villanova (1985 NCAA Champions) under Rollie Massimino from 1985-1992.  In 1992, he became head coach at Loyola Marymount, where he served for five seasons.

Olive has been head coach for the boys basketball team at Torrey Pines High School since 1996.

Jon Moore has taught Special Education and has been our Boys JV Basketball Head Coach for the past 15 years as well as being the Associate Head Coach for the varsity basketball team. Jon has worked as a camp instructor and speaker at over 100 summer basketball camps throughout the United States. Coach Moore's teams have won 20 or more games per season for 14 of his 15 years here at Torrey Pines and his teams have captured 8 league titles. Jon is also the head girls varsity softball coach at Torrey Pines. Jon is married and has one daughter.
